Q. What is the process for selecting and installing the products I want?
A. There are three basic steps required for selecting and installing our quality products:
1. Select your products.
The best way to select from our full line of windows, awnings, patio enclosures, doors and other home-improvement products is to visit our 1412 East Ridge Road in Rochester (NY) where you can see the various models and styles available. (Click here for a map and directions to our showroom.) While no appointment is necessary, we suggest you call us at 585-544-2110 before visiting so we can schedule your visit to make the best use of your time.
Many product samples and their associated product literature can also be reviewed at your home. An appointment is required and can be scheduled by calling 585-544-2110.
2. Get and approve a comprehensive, formal estimate.
An in-home visit is required for a comprehensive estimate so we can best determine the exact dimensions needed for the desired products and to discuss the various options available to meet the specific needs of your home. Call 585-544-2110 to schedule an appointment.
Once we have qualified the type and size of the products desired, Rochester Alumaroll will generate a comprehensive cost estimate that includes both the products as well as their professional installation. Estimates are usually provided via U.S. mail or fax within three to five business days from our in-home appointment.
Upon receipt and signed approval of the estimate, a deposit of 50% is required to process your order.
3. Schedule an installation date.
Because most of our products are custom-made by our manufacturer suppliers to your home's exact specifications, installation normally will be scheduled from three to six weeks from the receipt of your deposit. The exact time it takes depends on a number of factors, however, including the number of products ordered and the time of year.
While you can sometimes get lesser-quality products from our competitors faster, we believe it's worth the extra time to get the best quality products built to your exact specifications that will meet your needs both today and far into the future.
Q. What's the difference between a replacement window and other window options?
A. There are two basic replacement window options available to most homeowners: vinyl replacement windows and full-casing windows.
Rochester Alumaroll only sells, installs and services vinyl replacement windows which, we believe, are the most energy- and cost-efficient option for most homeowners. The windows are fairly easily installed by removing your existing windows but leaving the casement (i.e., window frame) intact. This avoids the needs to remove the casement which is normally structurally sound long before the windows themselves need replacing.
Casement replacement windows require that both the windows and frames be removed and replaced which is both time consuming and expensive, especially as the casements themselves usually far outlast the windows.
In addition to the relative ease of installation, vinyl replacement windows offer many benefits over casement windows including:
- Lower product cost;
- More energy-efficient construction and design; and
- Better product durability and longer life.
Of course these benefits are dependent on the quality of the vinyl replacement window themselves as well as their installation. Having been in the business for 60 years, we feel Rochester Alumaroll offers a superior product at a better value than you will find elsewhere.
